The UK’s largest union is to stage the first-ever general election debate on the economy in a move that will see leaders from across the political divide discuss how to restore economic prosperity.
It is the first time that the public will be asked to vote on a Labour-led government’s economic policies at an election.
The debate, to be screened by Channel 4 on Sunday, will question the current government’s record on its handling of the economy and how they intend to restore growth.
Unite UK general secretary Len McCluskey said the debate would not only raise the profile of the unions’ economic policy but also highlight the need for Britain to become an economic power.
A pair of people were arrested in an attempted armed robbery at a bank in Miami Friday night, Miami-Dade Police Department say.
Officers were dispatched to the Bank of America on NW 38th St. around 10:10 p.m.

Miami-Dade Police says the robber asked a teller for $450 and when he was told he did not have those dollars, he forced the teller to hand over his wallet and said “give me the $450, or I will shoot you.”
The teller ran to her car and told witnesses who then called police.
Police caught up with the suspect near SW 14th Avenue and NE 17th Street.
No injuries were reported.
It’s unclear if the people arrested have a record. They have not been charged, according to police reports.
