“We’ve always known we could build one,” Mr. Nye said later, “but at some point we couldn’t keep it secret. So with the Lamborghini Aventador we wanted to use a car that had no secrets, and that we could sell with an authentic Italian sound.”
By contrast, many other celebrities have already embraced the new Lamborghini Aventador—most notably Brad Pitt. When asked a couple of months ago by the Telegraph if he was interested in a Lamborghini, Mr. Pitt laughed and said, “Yeah, how does that work?”
And how does the new Lamborghini do?
The body, for instance, features an open-air cockpit that has “an aerodynamically derived seat,” Mr. Nye said. “When you sit into the Lamborghini’s cockpit, you find that there is no need for anything that requires a seat pad for comfort or stability. It’s a seat that’s designed to be flat and airy, like the seats on an airplane, and it looks the way you’d expect to see a Lamborghini seat.”

The rear is a flat, square design that looks like the rear of a normal car, with the doors and boot opening into a vertical opening, “where you can see through the doors and into the cabin.” An opening in the cockpit allows for the doors to be opened to allow outside air into the cabin, as well as the driver, who can take the car on a trip by just opening one of the six doors.
The windshield is a thin plastic cover, with openings that allow in rain, fog, and snow, and “we’ve used this windshield, which has been in an aerocapture and you can see through it, to actually turn it into a windshield.”

And of course, the headlights are the biggest feature of the new Lamborghini Aventador. “We actually don’t use the headlights,” Mr. Nye said. “You can find ones that do work, but they don’t work with the way we want to build it.”
