If you haven’t checked out the tutorial, go check it out. There are so many ways to express yourself and you don’t want to go in with the wrong mindset. You want a fresh, vibrant look — and don’t buy into the look of other people. Don’t buy into what other artists have been doing because it didn’t look like your style of art. Go make something you like, and use your own imagination to tell a story. If you’re a new artist, ask what other artists have done and then try experimenting with the same type of expression (or even a variation).

Can I create a theme for an existing comic?
Yeah, absolutely. For example, if two artists are working on something, but they have some different ideas on what that should be, they could both create a project where they both collaborate and create a theme for each project. It can be done with an existing comic — if you have an established image, go with one artist. Or if two artists get into a collaboration, go to their website and get their style as well. If you’re creative enough, some of those ideas could eventually work their way right into a comic.
