How do flappers look today?

Flappers look exactly the same as the 20th century did, except that today’s flappers have much darker undertones and are sometimes referred to as ‘granny flappers’. Today’s women don’t wear their bathing suits as the 1940’s-50’s flappers did, but instead put one of their bikini bottoms over the suit to add a bit of interest. The 1940s-50’s Flappers

The 1940s and 1950s were the peak of the flapper. Flappers began to spring up in small towns across the country, the most famous of which being New York City, where there were many flapper bars. These were filled with local ladies who wanted to appear less than average and look less professional when they walked the streets. The girls were usually just 18 until they reached a certain figure and then, depending on the type of clothing they chose, they could wear anything from a very tight, short bathing suit down to some less casual wear. They had their own costumes which were typically designed by their original local flapper and were a mix of contemporary design, fashion, and traditional styles. They enjoyed an extra-large dose of style and they really lived the lifestyle of the times with their dresses and bathing suits.

These 1920s flappers made great use of their body hair, especially their legs. Many of them sported long, thick braided hair and the cut of their swimsuits was similar as many of the girls were so young and so unkempt that they had a very girly aesthetic.
