A report into the war in Iraq by the Chilcot Inquiry has estimated the costs to the UK of the conflict at £13bn.
It used the most recent cost estimate provided by Iraq.
The cost, as a percentage of the UK gross national income, is 3.2%, while the US spends 10%.
Meanwhile, another report on the costs of the conflict by the Office of the Defence Minster has reported a rise in casualties in Iraq since the invasion.
The report, conducted by the UK Department for International Development, calculated that, if it were a country, the country’s GDP would be a little over £35bn, of which almost 1bn would be spent by the foreign aid agency.
