By default any file on your PC can have watermarks. Watermarks must be manually removed to regain access to your files. The first step is to check the “My Documents\My Games\Fallout New Vegas” folder located in your Program Files (x86)\Steam folder.
If you are on a Windows XP or Vista machine, then make sure that “Documents” and “My Games\Fallout New Vegas” are properly mapped to the right location in your folder structure and that the game is installed in the proper location (I usually have the game folder mapped to C: drive). Make sure that the “Data” folder in which the game is installed has subfolders called “Data” and “Data” but do not go further than that, since the game files are stored under the “Data” folder and cannot be hidden.
If a file from the “Data” folder has a watermark from the “Data” folder, then remove the watermark.

This project was started to create a tool that would automatically remove watermarks or “watermarks-overrun” from all your files. However, the problem with this is that you need to do this for every file you install, including mods, which means that this tool cannot help you to achieve that goal.
Thus, this tool is an attempt to use a simple script to automate some of the tedious actions of manually removing watermarks and watermarks-overrun. In order to do this, you first have to download and activate the latest beta version of the tool. In order to download the most up to date version of the script, please visit:
This is our beta version. In order to make this the best tool so far, please report any bugs or feature requests you may have.
