I’ve always been fascinated by photography, ever since I was younger. When I was 9, I saw the first episode of The Wizard of Oz and instantly was hooked and always wanted to learn as much as I could about it. After being on the receiving end of countless questions and comments about photography, I decided to take that passion and translate it to real life.
Are you an aspiring photographer yet? Do you have any advice for those who want to shoot?
I’d suggest that you don’t be intimidated by the process. In fact, I would be even more intimidated if I wasn’t the face of my institution. So I recommend reading about how to approach an interview through a beginner’s point of view and take a few minutes to practice your craft in front of the camera. You never know when a person will be genuinely interested in talking to you.
Do you have any projects in mind and any advice for us fans?
Right now, I’ve been working on a new book (Coming Home: Life Lessons From Six Children Who Had to Leave the States and Return Home), and I’m also shooting for a brand that I hope to help inspire and educate others about the process, namely The Young & The Restless; so you may be seeing a lot more of us in the future.

A large contingent of Australian and New Zealand military personnel will visit the United States at the end of the year to train and advise in an effort to reduce the threat of Islamic State militant attack on the Pacific region, the commander of the Australian Forces Joint Operations Command (AFJOC), US Air Force General Tom Lawson, told a Senate committee on Tuesday.
Australian soldiers will accompany the forces overseas at the end of 2016, to be followed by troops from New Zealand, Lawson revealed at meetings before the committee.
“The Australian military will, hopefully, contribute a fair amount in the training and advising capability that the Australians themselves will have when they come home,” said Lawson, who spoke before Senator David Leyonhjelm, the committee chairman.

“Our troops, our allies, they are coming back home with their A1s. Their support is absolutely essential in maintaining deterrence,” says the head of the Defence Force Air and Space Command Tom Lawson.
