10 Dance Lessons:
Step 1: Take 5 steps on both feet, hold both feet, then return to the foot with the step.
Step 2: Take 5 steps on both feet, hold left foot and dance around the left foot with your right foot, making sure your heel touches the ground, then return to the left foot.
Step 3: Take 5 steps on each foot, hold your right foot and dance around the left foot with your left foot, making sure you are not falling forward backwards as you do this.
Step 4: Take 5 steps on both feet, hold right foot, then step up with your left foot as you turn around, making sure your left foot touches the ground. Repeat the same sequence with both feet simultaneously.
Step 5: Take 5 quick steps on both feet, then immediately return to one foot. Do this on both feet simultaneously (i.e. on both feet, back to one foot).
Step 6: Take 5 quick steps on each foot, then quickly return to one foot with the same actions of Step 5.
Step 7: Take 5 quick steps on each foot, then take one short step at a time. (Do these on both feet simultaneously.)
Step 8: Take 5 quick steps on each foot, then take one long step at a time. (Do these on both feet simultaneously.)
If that’s difficult, you can do 5 on one foot with the other fingers, which works well for me.
Step 9: Take 2 steps with one of your hands (left hand for the first step, right hand for the second step), then return to your last leg.
Step 10: Take a step with both of your hands together and return to one foot. (Do this as many times as it takes to cover the same amount of steps.)
I don’t think you can do 10 steps with half a dozen hands, though. But I’ve done so many that I’m certain that I can do it better than one person can… maybe even all of us can.
A few things before we begin
1. There aren’t specific rules to teach you how to do this dance. Instead you’ll learn from watching a video or watching how others dance.
2. Do it right the first time. I always tell people to perform the dance in the correct direction first… or at least try for your best effort.
3. Do it quickly, but
