A bit of research might help.
You will find that the amount of fat in any food or beverage that has lemon added to it is not affected by the amount of lemon-flavored water.
However, some people think that lemon water can burn fat. This is untrue.
The only way to test this is to add lemon to your favorite foods and drink. If you have been doing this, most lemon-flavored water has no effect, but the water containing lemon may have a very small (about 0.1%).
The problem with using lemon in a beverage is that some people seem to assume it can harm the health of those who consume it.
This is untrue and, contrary to popular belief, the only known side-effect of lemon water is that it has a slight tingle in the mouth after eating anything with some lemon. (See Figure 1.)

One study examined the effect of lemon taste when it was added to ice-cream.
After eating 1 scoop of ice-cream (1/4 to 1 cup), the researchers noted that they could taste the lemon and that there was no taste at all. They found the same result after the researchers tasted each of the 3 ingredients, with lemon and without it.
Why don’t people have any problems drinking lemon water with some sugar? The answer is that the sweetness of lemon is not as pronounced as sugar, unlike some of the artificial sweeteners that contain sucrose, like aspartame.
The reason is that in the stomach, natural sugars are absorbed more slowly, compared to artificial sweeteners that contain sucrose. This is why you don’t experience any tingling or burning sensation from a lemon-water drink.
This is also why soda water has less lemon (more or less 0.1%) than lemonade.
Another reason is that some natural sweeteners may cause allergic reactions. Therefore, some people may avoid it.
Some lemon-flavored beverages (such as Diet lemonade) have been shown to increase an individual’s risk of allergy. It appears that the amount of flavoring used and the sweetener used may be a factor.
Do you want to know if you’re getting enough of a nutrition?
The bottom line is that if you are experiencing any side-effects from a citrus beverage or food or drink, or are using one of those lemon-flavored
