Do I need Photoshop if I have Lightroom? – Learn Photo Editing Login Instagram Direct

The Lightroom interface allows you to export from Lightroom into a .AI file which we will be using in this tutorial.

When exporting from Lightroom you should first export your photo into a normal image. In the case of our example we want to export a photograph. You can then use the Export button or the Options menu to select your photo, your original destination, whether to apply any filters and whether to set up your editing preferences in a separate window.

Aperture can also be used for image processing before you export the image to Adobe Lightroom, although it is not recommended as you will lose some of the tonal characteristics of your photograph, as well as the ability to use the histogram, which makes it easier for the computer to figure out how dark or light your original image is.

After you have exported your image you can import your new .AI in Photoshop, you can choose the file type in the Settings Menu then choose to import as RAW.

Exporting in Photoshop

With Adobe Photoshop you can export and apply a number of basic adjustments in the Edit menu at any time while saving .AI files. By default, your .AI will be saved as Aperture File, so you will need to add the files to your album and you’ll need to create a new album in which to save your file again.

Once your .AI has been uploaded to your Lightroom catalog you can export it to a new album, then export it to a new .AI file and apply the basic adjustments on it. When exporting to .AI you can also save the images as raw files, this is not recommended as you can then create a new folder for your edited .AI files and save it there.

Exporting As Aperture File

We need to add the photo file of our original image as part of our exported .AI, that way when Adobe opens our new .AI you will be able to see when we have created new .AI and have set up the preferences. When exporting to Adobe Lightroom you’ll need to add the photo file into the library so that it is part of your exported .AI and has the same metadata. After that add the photo file to the Library tab and set the metadata as you would have normally done.

You can then export your image as a .AI file and apply the same kinds of adjustments to it and then save it to your new album in the same way as you would have done if you exported the original image
