And can users do it without editing?
“Well, editing is one of the things that you have to do, because the editing is a part of the job.”
“How do you edit text?” asks an interviewer. “With editing software?” “Yes,” he replies.
“Then are you editing the text?”
“Yes”, he nods.
The person asks whether you are going to publish it.
“Oh, I don’t think I will. That’s going to be expensive and it’s a lot of work.”
What about an article?
“It will be published if I do it myself”
“And you will have to go through my editors? That is very much an edit-the-text-off-a-pamphlet job.”
“I won’t publish it. I don’t want to edit it.”
That’s the answer he got from a friend of an ex-mate, but he had no idea how to avoid the need to produce a work. And his friend seemed to think he didn’t “want to read the text” either.
“Why? I think you would actually enjoy it,” he said.
“Oh I don’t know. I mean, I might not read the text – I never did. And so I would not read it.”
After an initial “Oh-no”, I started to ask him where he got this idea.
“I’m not entirely sure. I think it happens with people and you read something and it’s just on your mind. So I would think the idea came about because you get attached to it and so it just comes to you.”
It has certainly happened to him.
“The idea started because I was saying that I was not going to do it. I was not going to start working on it because I didn’t like it and I thought that I would get bored so I just said ‘well, what would I do?’ and that was when I started thinking I could just do it.”
What did he call the article?
“It was a sort of a self-congratulatory little thing. A “yeah, if only you could do the job for that long, it would be so much more enjoyable. It would be so much more fun. It would be so much more fun for me and the people who came with me but really for them it was just like a
