A) An iPhone or iPad. (Or a tablet/phone if you have the cash)
B) A computer (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android)
C) A smartphone (which I will get into later)
D) A camera
E) There are many other possibilities, but I’ll leave those for another day. (A camera is soooo handy as a way to edit/crop photos when you need to, no matter where you are in the world. Plus, even on a smartphone you have so many great apps that can edit your photos.)
So then, you should have a camera. You are now free to choose where, when, and what you create.
What other skills should I have to start making money?
A) Photoshop, Illustrator (if you have good vision), or GIMP. They are free to use. You will be amazed at what you can do with them. (You may have to pay for the first two, but I’ve saved many an image by using those two programs.)
B) A good keyboard. You probably already have one. A good laptop screen will help if you start shooting.
C) Great web-cams (I like to use Samsung’s Galaxy S4). They’re cheap and you’ll be amazed how many amazing shots you can capture with them. (You should also have a laptop camera/cameras to play with. I prefer a Panasonic Lumix GF6 but many other options as well!)
D) Great photography editing software. This should come free with any computer, phone, tablet or camera. Most editing software allows you to change how/if you crop, color, and adjust brightness in your digital photos. (I personally like Final Cut Pro 7 for creating professional level edits/thumbnails.)
E) A computer. This will help you to edit your photos/cameras (not just crop, but make edits in post production, too, if you want to get professional level results.
What if someone told me, “Hey, you should be shooting!” and took everything away and said, “Well, I can make you some money!”
Well I’d say, “What?!?”
But then I’d want to show me what I can do with my photos. What should I use instead.
