Most often people say the main instruments or instruments with which they learn the most are the guitar, piano, and drums. While not true of all instruments, this list serves as a good starting point.
Many instruments can be difficult to master initially. The best way to progress in these instruments is to practice on them as often as possible, and to develop practice habits.

One week before he was appointed to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Ohio, Larry I. Thompson had been a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Cleveland for nearly 20 years.
But Thompson, a Republican, could no longer ignore the growing threat to the Affordable Care Act. So he spent his time in Washington in March writing a memo and arguing with his Republican colleagues in the Senate on health care.
In June, the Senate voted against a version of the Republican health care bill that contained a provision allowing states to opt out of some aspects of the law. Just days later, the House passed the bill — but with a small number of exceptions. Then the House passed it again, with a procedural vote on July 27 before being voted on again under parliamentary roadblocks at noon the next day.
It was all part of the House’s efforts to pass health care in spite of opposition — a measure many believe will not survive.
“We have a strong, united Republican caucus. We have all the votes in place to pass this bill,” Thompson said in an interview at the White House. “They’re not having as much of that same kind of effort to repeal health care, and that is a shame. The House bill, as we expected it would, did not pass.”
Thompson, now the U.S. Chief Magistrate, was appointed to the district bench by Ohio Gov. John Kasich by law in 1995. Thompson was voted out of his job on Oct. 21 after his colleagues in the Supreme Court — the 9th and 11th Circuit Court of Appeals — voted to remove some of his judicial authority, an action widely seen as a vote on his performance, which earned him praise from GOP members of the judiciary.
