Tottenham are expected to announce the signing of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Michael Dawson this afternoon for a fee believed to be £5m.
Dawson, 24, has spent the last four and a half years at White Hart Lane, having signed from Cardiff City at the start of the summer.
He became the fifth signing at Tottenham in the past 48 hours, following the arrivals of Paulinho, Nabil Bentaleb and Dele Alli, before making his debut against Hull City in September 2016.
He returned as a substitute against Chelsea last weekend and netted one of his most memorable goals for the north London outfit – which included a late penalty.
The arrival of Dawson is likely to be the final piece of the jigsaw that Spurs now need to complete a summer that has seen them lose key players Roberto Soldado (Ajax) and Vlad Chiriches (Roma) to Chelsea and West Ham respectively.
Dawson has been widely seen as being one of the brighter prospects in football, but he is yet to make his debut for Tottenham.
The Wales international is said to have agreed personal terms with Tottenham last Tuesday – just a day before he was unveiled by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
Dawson has been strongly linked with West Ham this summer after his performances for Cardiff and Tottenham last season, and it is thought that a move may yet come to fruition.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are also confident of signing Lyon midfielder Maka Unkel from their French club, who have been struggling for form since his departure from the Parc des Princes for Lille to the Stade Velodrome.
A high school student in Iowa has been charged with the sexual assault of a 17-year-old classmate, police have said.
The teen was arrested on Tuesday on a fourth-degree felony charge and the victim’s family has said there is evidence to support the charges, according to KFGO.
