Do video editors make good money? – Best Digital Cameras For Filmmaking Schools New York

I’m not sure that I’ll ever get paid for video editing…

No, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of video editing jobs in the world, which is unfortunate. However, even with my low-end laptop (which is now starting to show its age) I still use video editing and can still get jobs at big companies.

How do you make a living? I don’t have a lot of experience doing that.

I do freelance writing. The money can be pretty good if you keep writing consistently and put out good work as you can. My writing is very interesting in that I don’t really write for a living because I want to be able to live on a daily basis (like most people).

How do you see the video editing industry in 10 years? What are the main obstacles to making it better?

The main obstacles I see are:

Bad attitudes. I’ve seen many bad attitudes in the industry. From an author/editor perspective I can see how the attitude and “do the work or not at all” type of attitude tends to lead to stagnation. I hate to see that.

I hate to see that. Lack of training. Some people seem to think that people just “get it” because they have some sort of cert that they got from some degree (but this’s not true at all). Also when some people don’t take video editing seriously it makes the video editing field look to inexperienced and naive people.

Some people seem to believe that just because someone’s taken video editing seriously they will get the job done. I think that this is bad because it does not reflect reality. This is mostly due to the lack of video editing training/professionals that have a business background. Having an established team can often lead to more professional staff. Also it could be that they have the confidence to take video editing seriously, but they don’t have the business-like skills to do it.
