The New Orleans Saints have reportedly signed former New York Giants quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed via Twitter.
Fitzpatrick was signed to a one-year contract worth $2.75 million and will join the Saints in the form of an exclusive rights free agent.
Fitzpatrick was one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League last season, tossing for 10,094 yards, 63 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions.
He completed 61.3% of his passes for 3,081 yards, and 35 touchdowns in 15 games played.
Fitzpatrick threw for 2,084 yards, 17 touchdowns, and just three interceptions in 14 games played when he was healthy last year. A full list of Saints players who signed extensions last year can be found here.
An Open Letter to the Government of Canada
As citizens of a nation that continues to struggle for justice under a colonial legal system and a racist political system in a society that values and actively perpetuates cultural racism, we would like to ask for an apology from your government for the harm your policies and decisions have wreaked on our community. We have been subjected to systematic racial and systemic violence, discrimination, and abuse for generations since Canada’s creation; it is difficult to see what would be done differently and it is incumbent upon you to make amends for this harm.
We would like to also ask for your immediate and permanent removal as Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism.
Furthermore, we would like to make our voices heard in the Canadian legislature in order to prevent similar attacks from occurring in the future. We believe you should resign from office as well in order to make amends for this harm.
When we have the opportunity to serve as teachers of a new and emerging social science, we are forced to make several assumptions about our profession. At this point in our careers we are looking to understand how we can teach the students and provide the feedback to the teacher/leaders we are trying to grow.
