A cartoon of a mouse with a baby inside is a positive; one showing a mouse with a baby outside is a negative!
In the cartoon, the mouse is telling the baby that life is good and it deserves to live. A negative would be to deny the positive child a chance at life.
How should I draw that idea?
The key to making the drawing work is to know what you want to draw and how you want to express it: Is it for the child? Is it for adults? Is it to make a statement? Is it a simple drawing that serves the story? Are you trying to convey information directly to the viewer, or are you trying to build up a positive reaction? How do you know which will work best?
The first step to creating your positive cartoon design is to find the right picture. Here’s a list of good ones:
