Once on the internet, it’s quite difficult to get the price back that you paid or even if the singer agrees to a price in the future. This is especially true if the singer is in one of the many bands that use vocal solo as well.
Now onto the song and the album version: If you listen to the entire album, you can hear the singers all over the band, playing it all by themselves. It has a simple, basic structure, and it works perfectly on its own. While it’s definitely possible to produce an album with only a vocal solo, the only reason you can’t is because the band isn’t willing to commit to the costs. If you’re willing to be on the record without vocals (because your band could make a solo album, or you want to be able to make a video or whatever), then go for it… but remember that you still won’t get the ability to actually play the song solo. And, even if you have the ability to play the song solo, you’re still going to need to take that same approach and approach it through the album as well. In order to do that, it makes sense to start with something that doesn’t have the vocals, but that’s not as “pure” and simplistic as the album version.
