Theoretically, four megapixels should be enough to provide a “full” HD image. But real world testing has shown that this is not the case.
The problem is that a full HD frame will require at least 8 megapixels. In other words, if you have a 4MP camera with a single pixel sensor, that will be enough for both resolution and pixel size. In most cases, however, you need a full HD image.
I’ve had the opportunity to test a few 5MP and 4MP cameras of various capacities over the years and have never seen a 4k image out of either of them that was noticeably sharper than the average in any way. Instead, the only shots that I have seen were of some blurry high resolution photos. But I was always able to get a really good shot in a low light situation with the camera at that point.
I’m not a camera specialist, but I do know that there are 4k TVs out there for sale and there have been some very low level rumors and teasers for next generation Sony 4K TVs.
I just cannot believe that the Sony SmartBand that I just tested could not produce a 4k video clip while in a controlled situation.
I have asked Sony to make that video available to me in a format I understand in which I can play it back and have it converted to 4k. However, I have no idea how many copies that would require…
UPDATE: I reached out to Sony, and I was told that their 4k TV is not a product they are working directly with. If it can provide 4k video it will at some point also give you a 4k image, but this has never been directly reported.

One of America’s most iconic rappers is finally receiving the recognition she deserves as a poet. After getting a Pulitzer Prize for her poetry this month, Yara Khatib was recently honoured with the prestigious Arthur L. Carter Humanitarian Award at the US Book Awards. And now, with her work being translated into English, she’s officially become a poet within her adopted nation’s poetry community.
The award is presented every four years to a poet in the American national poet convention. In 2013, El Khatib was the first female poet to be honoured in that capacity, for being part of the National Poetry Slam as a soloist. “It was an exciting weekend of inspiration and inspiration,” she told Mother
