You have to play with a bunch of kids in a band. I mean, you have to take your time. And then they’ll be like “Oh, I get it! You can sing.” So, you know, then you gotta start up with your own band again and then after that, it’s a real steep learning curve with that kind of stuff. I don’t know if it’s anything like the blues or rock and roll. But there’s definitely a lot of great guitar songs with different parts.
How come you never tried to learn to dance around?
I was always, you know, very happy and a very good dancer. It just felt like it would be difficult for me to get better at it because I never played with anybody. Nobody was around, I didn’t have, I didn’t be at an audition and everyone was kind of just like, “No, we’re not interested in doing this.” I was never asked, I thought just because I was an aspiring child star in the 1990s. So I wanted to be just this happy child actor as a child star. I really wanted the part to be this perfect life for me and it just didn’t happen. Just kind of like, “I don’t care.” I don’t care about being a dance instructor and I never knew. I guess I wanted this dream life and it didn’t happen.
Have you ever been into any of those things that were so good on The X Factor?
[Laughs] No, no. Not really. You know, I think there’s just that it was the last thing on my schedule when the time came, like, what am I doing. I think I really started to feel like, “Hey, it’s not on,” you know? So I was like, “Okay, cool. You’re the first person who ever asked me, so maybe I can do that.” Like, I had to, like, I was like, “I need these kind of things.” So, I can’t really say that it’s all that. It’s kind of like I guess I’ve just started to play the piano more and like play on some of those, like, my favorite pieces. Like, “The Piano Concerto,” that was really really great.

Nah, not actually. I’m kind of like, “Oh, this is it. This is my song
