How long does it take to become really good at pole?
The basic rules of pole are pretty easy to learn once you have a good foundation, but I would highly recommend that you start out very lightly and just make small strides at a time. Most people don’t even start out thinking about becoming professional pole dancers. At the same time, the amount of pole skill you will have by the end of your initial practice time will be impressive.
I have heard stories of people being able to go back and forth into the deeper lessons of different dances. What is this?
In the late 80s, there was a great YouTube channel called Dancing on the Moon.
They were showing YouTube videos of people doing various acrobatic and somatic dances. They would also show beginner to advanced dance moves.
There was this video that the dancers would be practicing that would probably be called a “backstroke,” and it was extremely powerful and scary, and it was a huge influence on a lot of people from different parts of the world.
So what is this technique?
Imagine you can pull up a string of beads and a hoop in between them. You can then hold the two hoops up just like you would hold a flower. Then, when you’re holding it up, you can pull one end of the string in front of your face like a “T” and then the other end.
